January 19, 1961FLY-IN BREAKFAST AT CEDAR LAKE RESORT SUNDAYThe third annual fly-in breakfast to be sponsored by the Cedar Lake Resort, Donie Walsh, prop., will be held Sunday, Jan. 22. This event always attracts planes and pilots from throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. A special attraction will be delayed opening parachute jumps over Cedar Lake. Tom "Butch" Schell and Art Steffen, will jump from planes at 7,000 feet and open their chutes at 2,000 feet. Any place at the resort is a good place to view this event. And there’s plenty of free parking at Cedar Lake Resort, too. The public is invited to watch the planes come and go – upwards of a hundred planes may be parked on the ice at one time, in front of Cedar Lake Resort. Come any time after 9 a.m., and come for breakfast! January 26, 1961REPEAT PERFORMANCE – SPECTACULAR PARACHUTE JUMPSThe Sky Writers club will perform again at the Cedar Lake Resort (on the south side of Cedar Lake on Hwy. H) Sunday, Jan. 29. This is a repeat performance of last Sunday’s show – so many people missed this show it is being repeated by popular demand. September 28, 1961SUGGEST AIRPORT FOR NEW RICHMONDMonday’s meeting of the Kiwanis club was held at the golf club. The evening’s speaker was Thos. K. Jordon, director of the state aeronautics committee. Mr. Jordon suggests New Richmond should have an airport.
