RURAL BALDWIN PILOT DIES
Douglas Vandamme died unexpectedly on Friday, July 30th, 1999 while scuba diving in Michigan. Doug hangared his Cessna turbo 210 in hangar 22 at NRMA for several years. The wake is Wednesday from 4-9 at the 1st Reform Church in Baldwin. The funeral is Thursday at 1:30.

CRACK FILLING BEGINS
Starting Tuesday morning at 6:00 AM - weather permitting - work crews will begin repairing cracks in the aircraft parking apron, main taxiway, and runway. $7500 was budgeted this year for the work. Last year approximately $16,000 was spent on repairs to runway 14-32.

AWOS UPDATE
I learned this weekend funding for the Automated Weather Observation System has apparently been held up in Madison. The AWOS was scheduled for installation late this summer. Red tape is now wrapped around the project which may delay the installation until early next year.

NDB OUTAGE
The NDB was returned to service on July 23rd, following 2 weeks worth of repairs.

AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING
A meeting of the airport commission is scheduled for Thursday, August 12th, 1999 at 6:30 PM in hangar 61 at the airport.

THANK YOU
Thanks to all who helped with the Citabria Owners Group fly-in.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Don't wash your car before coming to the airport. The entrance to Airport Road and STH 65 is under construction. The culvert under Airport Road was replaced and the road widened. Work on the project is scheduled to be completed this month.

REIL'S
The runway end identifier lights for runway 32 are out-of-service. A circuit board in one of the control units had a fault. A new board is on order - ETA next week.

INMATES ARE BACK
Inmates from the St. Croix Correctional Center will be working at the airport during the next four days. Brush will be cleared from the approach end of runway 4, a new fence will be installed on the east side of the maintenance building, and taxiway lines will be repainted.

JUST A REMINDER
Fuel prices at NRMA are still only $1.64 for 100LL and $1.29 for Jet A!
