GREAT TURNOUT AT THE HANGAR SHOW
Thanks to all who attended the first ever hangar show at WITC last Thursday. Final attendance was somewhere around 40+ individuals which was about 15 more than I hoped for. The hangar construction companies all had good things to say about the event. We will probably try it again next year - but it will be bigger and better! If you couldn't make it to the show but are still interested in building a hangar, I have a whole stack of brochures from each of the vendors for you.
AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING
The first Airport Commission meeting held at the airport this year will be tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 6 PM. A cookout is planned for after the meeting. EVERYONE IS INVITED! Agenda items include a review of the hangar/taxiway project and possible purchase of a courtesy/crew car.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT
Try to attend the public hearing on the amended Airport Zoning Ordinance on Thursday, April 6th at 5 PM in the Civic Center in New Richmond. Input from airport users is needed. The new ordinance will prohibit residential development near the ends of the runways at NRMA. If you can't make it to the meeting, I will accept written comments. Just send me an e-mail. If you're interested in seeing our present zoning ordinance, go to: http://www.lwm-info.org/legal/ordinance/ord60.html
SUMMER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Last Thursday the airport engineers and city officials got together to finalize a design of the new hangar area and taxiway. A sketch of the new area will be presented at the Airport Commission meeting on Tuesday. Thus far, the project is on schedule for a July start date. Also. . . I spoke with a representative from CLH, the firm hired to install the new AWOS unit. He stated the AWOS will be installed in the last week of April or the first week of May. The unit was originally scheduled for the summer of 1999 but was held up due to funding problems at various levels of government.
FAA FORMS
If anyone needs aircraft registration or bill of sale forms, I've got a bunch. Stop by my office in hangar 61 to pick them up. I have State of Wisconsin registration/sales tax forms on order.
