TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS THIS TUESDAY
President Bush is scheduled to arrive at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and then appear at the RiverCentre in St. Paul on Tuesday, August 26th. Temporary Flight Restrictions will be issued for a large part of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, including New Richmond. Check the AOPA TFR web page at http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html .

AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING
A meeting of the New Richmond Municipal Airport Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30 PM in hangar 6-1. As always, a cookout will be held after the meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.

AIRPORT SIGN
You may have noticed the absence of the New Richmond Municipal Airport sign near the entrance to the south hangar area. The sign took a digger and was fatally damaged during a severe thunderstorm on July 3rd. A new and improved sign is planned for installation in September. The sign will also carry the new name for the airport - New Richmond Regional Airport. The name change will be official this fall.

YOUNG EAGLES RALLY
Local pilot Jon Cumpton is coordinating an EAA sponsored Young Eagles Rally planned for Saturday, September 20th at New Richmond Muni Airport. The rally will run from 9 am til noon. The rally consists of free flights for children ages 8-17. The mission of the EAA Foundation's Young Eagles program is to provide a motivational aviation experience, focusing on a free demonstration flight in an airplane. The Foundation's goal is to fly 1 million young people in the ten year period ending on December 17,2003 - the one hundredth anniversary of the Wright Brothers first flight. To date, EAA pilots have flown over 950,000 kids.

Jon is looking for volunteer pilots to fly the kids. The requirements are essentially that you be an EAA member, have aircraft liability insurance, and are current in your aircraft, including medical and flight review. You can contact Jon at (715)-760-0203 or by email at jcbroke40@aol.com no later than September 6th if you would like to participate.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY
2003 has been a busy year at New Richmond Muni Airport. Jet, turbo-prop, and piston traffic is at all time record levels. Fuel sales will most likely be at record levels, too. NRMA has now moved up to become the 5th largest airport in Wisconsin in terms of based aircraft. Planning is underway for additional capital improvements, including a corporate/business hangar area, additional taxilanes in the north hangar area, and runway improvements. More details to follow in future newsletters.

MULTI-ENGINE TRAINING
A twin-engine Beechcraft Travel Air is now in-service at Mike Demulling Flight Instruction. A multi-engine rating can generally be completed in around 10 hours of flight training. e-mail mike@nrairport.com for info.
