FUEL PRICE INCREASE
Jay Griggs, owner of Griggs Aviation, announced he has increased the price
of 100LL by $.10 effective May 1st. The new fuel price is $1.64 per
gallon. The increase is the first price change since late December. The
price of jet fuel will remain at a very low $1.29. Jay stated he is
passing along a price increase he received on wholesale fuel. Griggs
Aviation still has the lowest price on fuel in the western
Wisconsin/eastern Minnesota area.

RUNWAY 4-22 IMPROVEMENTS
Minor work around runway 4-22 (2100' x 75' grass runway) is scheduled to
begin next week. Dirt will be trucked in and dumped in low areas along the
northwest side of the runway to bring it up to grade. Inmates from the St.
Croix Correctional Center will be refurbishing the runway markers and
clearing brush near the runways later this month. Major work to the runway
will occur in the late summer. The runway will be smoothed-out and a
turn-around/run-up area will be constructed on the approach end of runway 4.

FUEL APRON
The area in front of the fuel pumps will be seal-coated during the next 10
days or so. Pavement cracks will be filled and a fuel resistant coating
will be applied to the area to protect the pavement. The pumps will remain
open during the seal coating.

POKER RUN PLANNING UNDERWAY
A poker run to western Wisconsin airports is planned for Sunday, May 30th.
Aircraft will depart NRMA starting at 10 am and fly to Siren, Shell Lake,
Boyceville, Eau Claire, and return to New Richmond. The best hand wins
fabulous prizes. Watch for more info next week. You must sign up for the
event if you want to participate - e-mail me at mike@nrairport.com.

EAA CHAPTER?
I spoke with Jon Cumpton last Saturday - a pilot who is moving to the NR
area this summer from Illinois. He said he is an active member of his
local EAA Chapter. He offered his assistance in starting a chapter in this
area. If everything works out, interested individuals from Amery, New
Richmond, and Osceola could get together and form a good-sized chapter.
Let me know if you are interested.
